옮기다

om-gi-da

You move a box, and you also move a cold

The picture What was here is lifted and set down there. The thing does not change; its place does. 옮기다 changes the place something occupies; 두다 leaves it sitting where it is.

All of it in one picture

옮기다 is one picture: only the place changes. The box goes to the other side of the floor and you have moved it; the name tag goes to another board and you have changed jobs; the mark goes to another square and the date has moved; the cold goes to another body and you have passed it on; the meaning goes onto other words and it is a translation. So wherever 옮기다 goes, the thing itself is unchanged and only the spot it occupies is different.
