던지다

deon-ji-da

Throwing a ball, throwing a question

The picture What was held in the hand is released, crosses the air, and lands over there. 던지다 releases it so it flies across; 받다 stops what flew in with your hands.

All of it in one picture

던지다 is one picture: you let go and it crosses to the other side. A flick of the wrist and the ball lands in someone's hands; let go without looking and the rubbish lands on the road. Words leave a mouth and land in front of the boss — a question thrown; the head faces forward while only the glance flies sideways — a look thrown; send your own body into the work and you have thrown yourself into it.
