All of it in one picture

日 is one block from sunrise to sunset. The block in the week named for the sun is Sunday; the block on which you first saw that sun is your birthday. Repeat the block without skipping any and you get "every day"; fill the inside of one block hour by hour and you get a schedule. A block deliberately left empty of work is a holiday.
