About this template

When to use this

A 10-slide format for board meetings and shareholder briefings, where speaking time is short and questions are long. Ten slides is roughly 12-15 minutes of narration; the rest of the slot belongs to discussion. If you need to share working detail, move it into a printed appendix and keep only conclusions here.

How the ten slides are built

The agenda on slide 2 has five numbered lines: “Call to order and quorum”, “Items for report”, “Reports and resolutions”, “Key metrics” and “Trend analysis”. Only the first two carry a divider-plus-body pair (slides 3-4 and 5-6); the remaining three map one-to-one onto slides 7, 8 and 9, with slide 10 closing the deck on “We act as resolved” over “Thank you”. If your meeting has several motions, duplicate the 5-6 pair once per motion and extend the agenda to match. The cover blurb and the “2026. Presenter name / Affiliation” byline are template defaults, so replace them with the meeting name and session number.

Filling order

  1. Write the five agenda lines so that items for report and items requiring a resolution are visibly separated; marking the latter helps the chair run the meeting.
  2. Lock the four cards on slide 8 first. They ship as “7” directors in office, “6” directors present, “3” items for resolution and “86%” attendance – that is, the conditions for a valid meeting. Keep them for quorum checks, or replace two of them with cash balance, order backlog and monthly burn when you also report on performance.
  3. Slide 4 is the call to order and quorum, not a summary. Under the lead “We confirm the quorum before opening the meeting.” it carries “6 of 7 directors present”, “Called to order 10:00, head office” and “Record whether the auditor attended”. Pin down the real time, place and quorum here or every later resolution is shaky.
  4. Slide 6 is the items for report, led by “Matters reported for information, with no resolution.” with “Report on Q3 business results”, “Internal accounting control status” and “Report on major litigation” as samples. Budget and headcount you need approved belong on the right-hand column of slide 7, not here.
  5. Slide 7 splits into “Items for report” on the left (“Q3 business results”, “Status of major litigation”, “Internal audit results”) and “Items for resolution” on the right (“Approval of next year’s business plan”, “Election of one outside director”, “Setting the treasury share limit”). Number the three right-hand lines so they transfer straight into the minutes.
  6. The trend slide holds four bars – “Mar meeting” 14, “Jun meeting” 11, “Sep meeting” 17, “Dec meeting” 12 – which is a quarterly board cadence. Do not try to fit twelve months; keep the quarterly labels.

Examples

  • Body line: “e.g. Q3 revenue 12.8B KRW against a 13.5B plan (95%)”
  • Cards: “e.g. Cash 21.4B / burn 1.12B per month / 19 months runway”
  • Request: “e.g. approval of 3.8B KRW for logistics automation, 2.7-year payback”

How to state the numbers

Separating final from estimated figures is the point of this deck. Tag pre-close numbers as provisional, and keep one comparison basis (prior year vs. prior quarter) across every slide. Attainment = actual / plan x 100; if the plan was revised, show both the original and the revision. Slide 8 carries no “sample values” footnote, so check that every card is a number confirmed on the day. The trend bars are shapes, so editing the number will not resize them.

Common mistakes

  • Showing only favourable cards. Boards look for the bad number first; include one deteriorating metric with a prepared cause.
  • Packing dense tables into the main deck – 12pt tables are unreadable on a meeting room screen.
  • Omitting follow-up on the previous meeting’s action items, which is usually the first question asked; give it one of the three lines on slide 4.
  • Wording a motion differently on each slide. If the deck and the minutes disagree, the scope of the approval is disputed later – repeat the same sentence on the agenda line, on slide 6 and in the right-hand column of slide 7.
