About this template
What this file is for
Twelve slides for a lesson that gets recorded: one session of an online course, a live webinar, or internal e-learning. Unlike a room, you cannot read the audience, so the slides have to carry the navigation – and this file ships with several repeating elements built for exactly that.
Deal with the repeating page furniture first
A running header reading “SHAREDOCUMENTS / 2026” repeats across every body slide, the cover carries magazine-style markers (ISSUE 01, NO. 01, COVER STORY) plus a metadata block for issue and category, and the metrics and chart slides are numbered FIG. 01 through FIG. 04. Before publishing: change the running header to the course name and session number, for example “Intro to Data Analysis / Session 3”; replace the cover metadata with start date, intended audience, and total sessions; renumber the FIG labels if you added or removed slides; and delete the note under slide 10 that says the figures are examples.
Reorder the three pairs
The three divider-plus-body pairs ship as goals (3-4), wrap-up (5-6), key concepts (7-8) – the wrap-up sits before the concepts. Swap 5-6 with 7-8 and renumber PART 01 through 03 on the dividers. In a recorded lesson each pair becomes one video chapter, so noting the timecode where a divider appears makes editing and the chapter list much faster.
Example body lines
Each body slide has three items numbered 01, 02, 03. For a spreadsheet functions lesson: “VLOOKUP only works when the lookup value sits in the first column”; “Leaving the fourth argument blank returns an approximate match and the wrong row”; “Inserting a column breaks the index number, so use XLOOKUP.” Slide 10’s metrics (6-week course, 12 lessons, 3 tasks, 90 minutes per session) are what learners want before enrolling, so show them early in session one.
Common mistakes
- Filling text to the bottom of the frame, where playback controls and captions cover it – leave the lower fifth empty.
- Leaving slide 9 untouched; its before/after lines are a workflow example unrelated to the lesson.
- Copying the cover unchanged each session so the NO. and session number never update.
