About this template

Keep it to what gets read in one sitting

A Word template that carries a business plan from overview to revenue model with the tables and styles already set. It suits grant applications, an internal approval for a new line of business, or a loan conversation — anywhere the reader decides quickly. Margins and table heights are tuned to stay inside two A4 pages, so edit by cutting rather than adding. There are no charts in the file, only text and tables; attach any figures as an annex to keep the layout intact.

Filling order

  1. The blue label above the title reads “proposals and planning”; replace it with your division or the name of the call, and overwrite the grey line under the title with a one-sentence summary of the business.
  2. Fill the four-cell document table: date, author, department, document number. The defaults are 2026-01-01, Hong Gil-dong, Corporate Planning, DOC-2026-001; extra digits wrap the number onto two lines.
  3. Work through 1. Business overview, 2. Market and competition, 3. Revenue model. Each is one grey lead line plus three bullets, and three bullets is the budget that keeps the length.
  4. Enter four figures and four labels in the Key Metrics table.
  5. Leave the Prepared / Reviewed / Approved table empty and print it for signature.

What goes in the three sections

  • Business overview ships with three product lines, a target customer of businesses with three or fewer staff, and an incorporation date of 1 April. Product, customer and date together make the overview complete.
  • Market and competition uses size, structure and growth: a KRW 1.24T domestic market, 61% combined share for the top three players, 8.3% annual growth. Put the source in brackets at the end of each line.
  • Revenue model splits the paths money arrives by: KRW 29,000 monthly subscription, KRW 120,000 per installation, KRW 4.2B revenue in year three. With more than three paths, keep the largest three and group the rest.

Choosing the four key metrics

The table ships with KRW 4.2B year-three revenue, KRW 320M initial investment, breakeven at 18 months, and seven founding staff — how much goes in, when it comes back, and how many people do it. The revenue figure repeats the last bullet of the revenue model section, so edit both together. Investment and breakeven are linked, so state your equity-to-debt split somewhere in the body.

How the tables behave

Nothing calculates by itself. Key Metrics is two rows by four columns, figures over labels. With only three metrics, delete a column and redistribute widths in table properties rather than merging cells. The lower approval row is sized for a signature; do not shrink it. If the call also asks for product composition, funding requirements or a year-by-year plan, append further sections in the same shape — heading, lead line, three bullets.

Common mistakes

  • Six bullets per section, pushing the approval table onto a page holding only signature boxes.
  • Unsupported figures in Key Metrics; it is read before the body, so drop anything you cannot justify.
  • Going up for approval with DOC-2026-001 still in the document number cell.
  • Quoting the total market without stating the share you intend to take and over how many years.
