About this template

Eight slides for a bid presentation

For presenting a tender response compressed into eight slides. A bid presentation is not a free-form pitch: it is scored against a rubric with points per criterion, so the first thing to edit is the agenda on slide 2, not the body. The file runs cover, agenda, one divider, one body slide (checking the tender conditions), a comparison slide, metrics, a trend chart, and a closing slide. Detailed technical compliance belongs in a separate document.

Align the agenda with the scoring sheet

The agenda ships with four items: checking the tender conditions, buyer requirements versus our response, key metrics, and the trend chart. If the tender uses different labels, copy the tender’s wording exactly, because reviewers read with the rubric in hand. Only the first line owns a divider-and-body pair (slides 3 and 4); the other three lines are carried one slide each by the comparison slide, the metric tiles and the bars. To treat each scored criterion separately, duplicate the 3-4 pair as many times as you have criteria and add the matching agenda lines. Put the high-point criteria first and renumber the section dividers; giving a 20-point criterion and a 5-point one the same number of slides costs you.

Rewriting the three condition bullets

  • “Tender number and closing time” becomes “e.g. Notice 2026-0417, bids close 12 March 16:00, opening 13 March 10:00”.
  • “Award method and scoring table” becomes “e.g. negotiated contract, technical 80 / price 20, disqualification below 85 technical points”.
  • “Site briefing attendance” becomes “e.g. attended the 27 February briefing, attendance certificate attached”.

Metric cards and the score bars

The metrics slide ships with a bid ratio of 87.4%, specification compliance 42/42, 18 comparable contracts, and a technical score of 95.2. Use those four tiles only for values you can evidence on paper, since the numbers often end up quoted in the contract. A ratio such as 42/42 must match the item count in your specification matrix, and if 95.2 is your own forecast, label it as such. The trend slide is not a timeline: its four bars are expected scores per criterion (technical capability 88, price 92, delivery record 76, reputation 63). Leaving the lowest bar untouched advertises your weakness, so add a line on the same slide about how you will close it. Keep the bid price itself in a separate cost breakdown.

Where bids lose points

  • Renaming the tender’s criteria in your own vocabulary, so a reviewer cannot match them.
  • Writing “about six weeks” instead of weeks counted from the kick-off date.
  • Leaving the left column of slide 5 as the sample tender requirements. The right column (all 42 mandatory items met, 11 comparable deliveries, warranty extended to three years) only scores if each line answers a requirement copied from this particular tender.
