Paperwork

How these tools work

Nothing is uploaded

Each tool is a web page. When you type a client name it goes into a JavaScript object in your browser’s memory, and when you press Print your browser renders that object to paper or to a PDF. At no point does the document travel to us — there is no endpoint here that accepts one, which is the only version of that promise worth making.

You can confirm it. Open your browser’s network panel, fill in a form, and watch that nothing carrying your data leaves the page — the only outbound request you will see is a performance beacon our host, Cloudflare, injects across the whole domain, which is described on the privacy page. Turn off your connection after the page has loaded and the tools still work.

Where your data is kept

In localStorage, which belongs to your browser and to this site’s address. Each tool keeps its own record, so your timesheet settings do not disturb your invoice numbering. That has one consequence worth planning around: your documents exist on this browser, on this device. Clearing site data removes them, and a different laptop will not have them. Export writes a JSON file you keep; Import reads it back.

How the PDF is made

By your browser’s own print engine, not by a library. The preview you see is the printed page — same element, same stylesheet, with the interface hidden by a print rule. Choose “Save as PDF” as the printer destination, set margins to Default, and turn off headers and footers if your browser adds them.

The layout targets A4 and US Letter without change, because the content column is sized in millimetres with room for the narrower of the two. Long tables — a sixty-payment schedule, a month of timesheet rows — repeat their header on each page.

Where the arithmetic comes from

What these tools do not do

Why they are free

Because they cost almost nothing to run. There are no documents to store, no accounts to secure and no per-user cost — the work happens on your device. The pages carry advertising; the documents they produce do not, and never will, because a watermark on someone’s invoice is a tax on them being unable to pay.
