Twelve slides that show the arithmetic
Twelve slides with three divider-and-body sections: sizing method, total market, serviceable market. A comparison slide, four metric cards, a trend slide and a closing slide follow. The agenda lists six items, but segments, growth drivers and sources have no slides, so duplicate a pair for them or trim the agenda before presenting. The deck turns on sections two and three, where reviewers reach for a calculator, and the job is to make those numbers read as a calculation rather than a conclusion.
Lock the sizing method first
The first body slide reads: cross-check bottom-up against top-down, base year fixed at 2025, single exchange rate of 1,380 won. Those three lines are the premise for every number after them, so settle them first and fit the rest around them. Keep cited statistics to the same base year and footnote the rate wherever a foreign figure was converted; blur this and the 4.6 trillion loses its footing.
Building the two market numbers
- Total market equals target businesses times annual spend. The file carries 4.6 trillion won domestically, 21 trillion across Asia, and 11.4% annual growth. It must be what they spend on products like yours, not the industry’s revenue.
- Serviceable market is the slice you can sell today: 128,000 businesses times 2.4 million won a year gives 307 billion, and the file already balances – change one line and you must change the others. Write down the filters you applied.
- Obtainable market has no slide here. Turn the “segments” agenda item into a body slide and add 307 billion times a 5% target share, or 15.3 billion won. Then convert to accounts: at 2.4 million a year that is about 6,400 businesses, roughly 178 new accounts a month over three years. Whether your sales motion can do that is the real question.
Show both directions side by side
Put the top-down figure from published research next to your bottom-up figure – the method slide claims a cross-check, so this slide has to deliver one. When they differ, one sentence explaining why builds more trust than a single tidy number, for example that the report also counts offline fees. If you show 4.6 trillion domestic against 21 trillion for Asia, say that the domestic share is 22%.
Make the cards and bars match the body
The four cards – 4.6 trillion total market, 307 billion serviceable, 11.4% growth, 128,000 businesses – are lifted straight from the body slides, so edit them together. The trend bars read 46 for 2025, 64 for 2027, 89 for 2029 and 124 for 2031. Read as trillions, that implies about 18% compound growth, which contradicts the 11.4% stated in the body; at 11.4% the 2031 bar would be near 88. Fix one or the other and put the unit in the caption.
Where the numbers collapse in diligence
- Sizing the total market as industry revenue, which fails at the first question.
- Stating target share only as a percentage, with no account count or monthly target to verify it against.
- Omitting sources and base years; the agenda promises a sources section that has no slide, so at minimum footnote each body slide.
