About this template
Twelve slides laid out like a magazine
The cover carries issue and number labels plus a cover-story block, the agenda is styled as a contents page with six entries, and every body slide has a running head and an article tag. That suits campaign briefings, health education for schools or workplaces, and wrap-ups. It is a poor fit for dense budget material, because the layout keeps a lot of white space.
Start with the cover labels
- Replace the issue and number labels with the campaign round, or the campaign period if it is a one-off.
- Put a single-sentence slogan under the cover-story label.
- Use the two small fields for the organizing body and the target audience.
- Put the presenter and organization at the foot.
Three body pairs, three orphaned agenda items
The three divider-and-body pairs run why now, who we are speaking to, and the one-sentence message – evidence, audience, message, which is exactly the order a campaign briefing needs. The other three agenda items (channels, participation results, next round) have no slides, so duplicate a pair or trim the agenda. Each body slide numbers its items 01 to 03, so three messages is the ceiling, and the defaults state a direction without a number:
- Why now: “smoking rate above the national average” becomes “adult smoking rate of 21.4%, 3.1 points above the national average”.
- Audience: “primary audience men aged 40-60” becomes “8,200 men aged 40-60 in the district, 3,100 of them unscreened”.
- Message: the first line is already a slogan; the other two are production rules, so delete them from the distributed version.
Put the source next to the number
The metric slide holds four figure-labelled cards – 1,860 booth visitors, 214 clinic registrations, 12 banner sites, a 4-month campaign – with a sample-value footnote underneath. Replace that footnote with the survey name, year and sample size. The first two cards read as an 11.5% conversion from visit to registration; put that line on the same slide and next round’s target writes itself. The trend slide shows 32, 58, 91 and 74 for April to July in index units, and that drop in July needs one line of explanation – holidays, budget exhausted – or every question lands on that bar. If you enter participant counts, change the unit label to persons.
Questions that come back from residents
- Showing a percentage with no denominator.
- Filling all three lines with warnings and none with how to participate – especially here, where the channels section has no slide.
- Distributing the deck with the fictional issue number still printed.
- Leaving the sample figures on slide 9 (screening uptake 41% to 68%, cessation counseling 24 to 112 a month). Public-health figures need their source and survey date beside them, or they do not count as results.
